View from Prini veranda before the arches were made. Rice terraces, called ‘ropa’. Looking up valley from our veranda in 1985 there was only one house in view – Mangal Singh’s cousin. The snows of Solang range are clear, it was probably spring.

From Tangwasi Ridge. From above Goshaini, paths and villages, looking to the East
On Tangwasi Ridge the path zig-zags either side of the ridge, on promontories are ruins of Tanwasi fort, and others. and on grassy swathes there several shrines and temples. Villages straddle the hillside, ridge after ridge stand out into the distance.
