A view of Riwalsar. It is a place of pilgrimage for Sikhs, Hindus and most of all Buddhists. In this photo the Gurdwara is seen the far side of the lake, Ladakhi/Zanskari gompa nearby, the Hindu temple in the foreground and gompa frequented by Khampas and others in the right hand corner. Some Zanskaris, Lahaulis and Buddhists from Manali area spend winters here. It is less cold, vegetables are cheaper and there is a peaceful congenial atmosphere.
